Mahendra singh Thapa one of the original Nepali raft guides to emerge as rafting developed in Nepal. In 92 he was considered as the most experienced guides in the Himalayas and formed Equator Expeditions, an adventure travel company based on Kathmandu. In 2002 Mahendra became the President of the Nepal Rafting Association.   Equator team has worked for the production of adventure documentaries for National Geographic Television, Outdoor Life Network, Channel 4 and Trans World Sport. Their experience in the world of adventure is derived from a lifetime of expeditioning, instructing and guiding throughout Asia . .   Mahendra has a nose for adventure. However, it is his continued appreciation and understanding of an ever-evolving adventure travel market that makes them the most experienced Ground Operators in the Himalayas. SUMMARY

I have over twenty-five years experience as a professional guide in the Himalayas, leading numerous river and mountaineering expeditions. This experience has given me an extensive knowledge of these regions and provided valuable insight into the logistics of ensuring safe, smooth expeditions.

Realizing that the rafting companies of Nepal needed more unity, in 1988 I became the founding President of the Nepal Rafting Guide Association and retained this position until 1992.

From 1999 until 2001 I acted s the General Secretary for the Nepal Rafting Agent Association, NARA www.raftingassociation.org.np and then increased my leadership role to President of this organization from 2002 through 2004.

In order to gain more experience in the fields of trekking and mountaineering, I took on the role of Second Vice President of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) www.taan.org.np

Wishing to give TAAN more focus and direction, I took the initiative of becoming the President of TAAN in 2011 and will retain this position until 2013.

I have work as a Fixer with many different TV channel and work for the BIG FOOT , SUPER NATURLIST , DUAL SURVIVAL for discovery and National Geographic .
